Dr Alfonso IorioDr Alfonso Iorio is an Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics and the Divisions of Hematology and Thromboembolism and General Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. He is Deputy Chief of the Health Information Research Unit and Director of the Haemophilia Clinic at McMaster. Dr Iorio is an Associate Editor with the journal ‘Internal and Emergency Medicine; Rare Diseases and Orphan Drugs – A Journal of Public Health’ and on the Editorial Board of the journals Haemophilia and the Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis. He is the Chair of the Data and Demographics Committee, World Federation of Hemophilia and Chair, Committee for the Bleeding Disorders Registries, AHCDC. He is also a convenor  of the GRADE Working Group on Prognosis and member of the Cochrane Prognosis Methods Group.
Professor Mike MakrisProfessor Mike Makris is Professor of Haemostasis & Thrombosis in the Department of Cardiovascular Science at the University of Sheffield. He originally joined the University of Sheffield in 1989 as a Lecturer in Haematology. Following completion of his haematology training he was appointed initially Senior Lecturer in 1994 followed by Reader in Haemostasis and Thrombosis in 2002. He became Professor of Haemostasis & Thrombosis in 2013 and holds an Honorary contract with the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Consultant Haematologist. Professor Makris is the Director of the Sheffield Haemophilia and Thrombosis Centre. He is an editor on the journal Haemophilia and an editorial board member for the British Journal of Haematology, Blood Transfusion and Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis.
